Top ten places to travel on Spring Break. By Ava House and Olivia Simon

Imagine the fresh, salty air brushing across your face, or possibly the cool, snowy air. Over the last couple of years, many people have been missing this amazing feeling due to fear and anxiety. Only around 44% of Americans traveled in 2020, whereas the typical average is 70%. Although this decline has put many traveling plans on hold, that does not mean that these destinations are gone.

Spring break is approaching quickly, and SHS students are getting excited about the upcoming travels. These are this year’s top destinations that you may want to consider adding to your bucket list:

  • Oslo, Norway

  • New Orleans

  • Egypt

  • Kingston, Jamaica

  • Birmingham, UK

  • Serbia

  • Jersey

  • Bend, Oregon

  • Tipperary, Ireland

Students at Saline have many different plans this year for spring break. Some will visit family, some will be seeing friends, some will be touring colleges, and some are simply staying at home. After surveying 84 students at Saline High School, many have said that they made travel plans for the break. Several students said that they will be leaving the country this spring break, heading towards destinations such as France, Honduras, Italy, and Mexico. For those traveling withing the country, there were 19 different states that students said they would be traveling to, with the most popular state being Florida. Florida includes the Atlantic ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and hundreds of miles of beach land. Many Saline students said that they would be visiting Florida’s most visited city, Orlando, which contains attractions such as Disney World and Universal Studios.

Although Covid has put a pause on many vacations, Saline students are beginning to explore and experience new places again.
