A degree of creative genius is a vital attribute for advanced artists to have. In order to astound their audiences and evoke strong emotion, the creation must be unique and personal. To the immediate left is pictured a recently completed piece from senior Janna Jacobson’s sustained investigation of “Festering.” Hauntingly disgusting, a woman appears to have centipedes and maggots slithering down the length of her extended tongue. The maggots, too, appear to gouge through the eyes of decaying fish adorned in rotten scales. Jacobson says her, “eccentric imagination” gave birth to such a grotesque image, and she often “dreams” ideas such as this one. To view in full color, visit the piece mounted in the art cabinets located in the middle of the hallway on the first floor, or visit our website.
